ram cichlid temperature

Hi.
I was wondering at what temperature people keep their rams in planted setups.
I have a low tech planted tank with ottos and rams and the temperature is 25.5.
If i bring it up the ottos and plants won't be happy.
So is this temperature sufficient for rams,or should i keep them in another tank with higher temps?

It is ot ideal, but i keep mine in symalar temp. They do breed and seem happy and healthy. Ideal is 28 even some guys up to 30 deg.

 

I keep my rams in a planted tank at 27 - 27.5 with ottos, in the 4 months I've had the temps that high I have had no issues...

 

Also keep mine at 27-28, and all other fish seems fine. Most fish will adapt better to a stable slightly higher or lower temp, then one that is constantly shifting...

I thought ottos don't like temps above 26,that's why i wasn't sure.
Will bring it up a bit then and keep an eye on them.

 

I think that during last 4 months, if you live in pretoria, it would have been difficult to have a tank below 28 degrees, mine has only now started dropping to 26.
