    Hey guys, me again...

Been window shopping the weekend for an off the shelve setup, this is humble opinion, please I need yours to.

The Juwel Rio 350 is a german made product, the components feels like quality, light look okay to start off with the only issue I have with it is the internal filter box. Although the reviews are positive I'm not sure if it will be adequate... The filter box also houses the heater, but reviews suggest adding another. Anyone have any experience with this tank?

Now this might come as a supprise but I really like the Red Sea Reefer 350. Everything feels like quality, looking at all the equipment that makes up the setup you can see they thought about every detail. I know this is meant for a marine setup but I'm really thinking about going freahwater with a setup like this, obviously minus the protein skimmer... Is got a little sump at the bottom, plumbing seems well thought out. The issue is the price, you get everything but no lights, so you will have to fork out a bit extra for a quality light. Feels like the Apple version of aquarium tanks, you only get the tank, everthing else is extra (and expensive). Any opinions?

Thank you in advance for any replies :)

Thank you for the reply oupoot, much appreciated.

I did come in contact with an individual from Tableview, Graham from Gapedi Tanks that is willing to build a tank + cabinet combo for me, will send him my sketch in the week.

For any other tank builders on the forum, please contact me if you are willing to give it a go please.

I do agree on the price of the Red Sea setups though, beautiful, but expensive...

    Hi bud.

There are a few Red Sea tanks for sale on FB etc.

They are lovely tanks and do work well for freshwater as well.

I personally run a Red Sea Reefer 450 as my cichlid display tank as I wanted a similar tank as my marine setup.

For freshwater you have lots of options for lighting.

You can replicate the design and build a custom system.

Looking forward to seeing your plans evolve

What do these Red Sea Reefers cost and who sells them? I like the size of the RSR 450 - a nice size up from the standard 4ft tanks.

RSR 450 is discontinued however there was a secondhand one on sale this week on the Marine Aquariums SA FB page for R6k which is a good price for a RSR.

New models are available at WildOn Pets, Jungle Aquatics, Dorry Pets, etc

A nice price indeed but also a long way to move it (from Potch I think). Unfortunately I have a whole bunch of unbudgeted expenses this month which has killed my finances.

I have seen some at Petworld XXL at Cape Gate and the one at N1 City also, not sure if you are this side of the world or not...

The Red Sea Reefer was 25K I think... will go check the weekend, want to take measurements of the tank, sump and cabinet to see if someone can replicate it for me... Keep you posted.

Wont be too hard to replicate - all the measurements are on the Red Sea website. Glass will be the biggest cost factor as it is low iron glass and polished all around
