Hi.I have currently 10guppies in quarantine in a 15L tank (I know its a bit small for 10guppies).I got them on Sunday and imedialty put them in quarantine..so far the rest are doing very good.they are all active and eating well..My only concern is the wite male guppy has red lie strings coming out from his bottom..and its also an it dark there when you look it it from the back..I'm suspecting its the internal parasite..any suggestions on meds to treat it? .I will try and post some pics shortly..thx

I will pick up some test strips on Thursday..Will make shure my parameters are stable..I had the tank running with declorinator and nutradin cycle for 2days..I did however put the declorinator in a bucket for a week..but actually put the water from the bucket with the nutrafin cycle in on Friday..so will have to check the parameters

I've had them before. I've kept them in check by using a dewormer in bloodworms and prazipro every 3 weeks. Also if you're really careful you can physically remove the adult worms from the fish. But this can cause damage to you fish if done incorrectly.

The dewormer and prazipro use should be able to find a pet shop. I found that this mainly works on the eggs and not on the adult worms. With the adults I've had luck with physically removing them and using antibiotics.

You might need something stronger like Levamisole to kill this worm !!!!

It has to be Levamisole - so Dovaworm or Nemarid are your best bets locally. All is described, including dosing, in that linked thread.
JBL Nedol is the second best option but that doesn't always work as it is fenbendazole based rather then levamisole.

Check vet mart. They deliver nation wide. Also try use tramisol. If you can't find a better option as it will kill the worms but it is rough on your fish.

The worms seems to infect live bearers more easily. That's how mine started.
