We will be removing all restrictions on creating sales threads today. In other words, there will no longer be a post count requirement or a minimum number of days being a member requirement before being able to sell on TASA.

Reason we are doing this is due to Facebook rules not allowing the sales of live animals and they are shutting down groups and banning admins of groups that allow the selling of live animals. I don't want to be banned from FB and I don't want our very active FB group to be closed either, lol. Therefore we are going to inform all users on our Facebook group that they may no longer advertise livestock on Facebook but will instead be directed to the forum in order to post their sale.

This means anybody can sign up on TASA and immediately sell or buy something!

BE AWARE of conmen and scam artists. We strongly suggest face to face meetings with the buyer or seller and make sure you view the livestock or equipment in person BEFORE exchanging money!!! Be vigilant when buying or selling to someone you do not know, as you would on any other site such as Gumtree or FB etc. If the sale or purchase goes wrong we can not help you. Familiarise yourself with our Disclaimer and Liability clauses - https://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/threads/rules-for-buying-and-selling.18/

@Zebra Pleco could I also suggest that admin & mods emphasize and reinforce the photos rule. As in all goods / livestock for sale need to be shown clearly on a photo posted on the open forum. No “I’ll pm you photos”...

It’s not only a time waster but also pretty suspect if someone is not willing to post clear pictures and also provide a brief background on the open forum.

Picture with a piece of paper containing the person's username and the date would be good

There's a block on the right hand side of the home page with our FB group. ;)

I seem to be unable to post an ad, but only on the equipment page, says i do not have sufficient privileges ?

All other classified pages allow me to post no problem.

I’d like to invite and remind new members to please pop in at the New Members forum to say hi, introduce yourself, post pics and tell us more about yourself etc. We’d love to see what you’re into, and chime in on other threads!
    https://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/forums/new-members.5/

TASA is a supportive community, sharing ideas and info, and new members are very very welcome. So please join in! Doesn’t matter if you’re a complete newbie or have been in the hobby for 50 years.

I know I keep harping on about this, and not sure if I’m the only one who feels this way, but ideally some sort of introduction should be mandatory... Otherwise it feels a bit like someone ringing your doorbell out of the blue with goods to sell :)
