    HI All

So I have my 2 ft, and I started off with 6 cories, but they were incredibly shy and I never saw them, so I expanded the school to 8 and made sure there is hiding spaces, but all they ever seem to do is hide all the time, any similar experiences of suggestion on how to make them less shy, dont I have enough hiding sport?

How long have you had them for ?
New fish can take quite a while to settle down

Give them time. I had the same issue with my glowlight tetras for the first 2.5 months and now when I put the light on, they come up waiting for food. They even eat out of my hand, 3 months later.

All you need is time and patience.

EDIT: I have the one that stays behind the plants, often I worry when I don't see all 6 together and then look for it, it's a male and more than often, I find him sleeping and scribble the glass to wake him up so that he can get some food. He makes me laugh at times, always the last one to come up for food.

I have had them for 2 years and they have always been shy, when I moved a few months ago i was surprised to see so many as I usually only count 3 of them and just find it odd as the gobys and otos i have were shy for the first week or so and then normalised

Do you have plants in the tank? Also what type of cories are they?

Perhaps posting a picture would help us determine what's going on.

You need some dither fish to help them feel comfortable. Try guppies :)

My bronze corys also choose to rest at the back of the tank most of the time.

They all come out for feeding but right now I only see three of them chilling in front despite plenty of dither fish.

There are about 12 of them in the 1,5m. Think plant cover/ dimly lit helps.

But @DoubleDutch is the one to ask about corys.

Only time I see my Bronze cories are just before lights out, and the spotted onei see a bit more in general, hes the bravest one despite being alone after his mates all died off...

I even got the bronze ones from diffirent shops at different times to take genetics in to account, thinking maybe they just shy.

HEre is my tank photo, they pretty much hide behind the logs\rocks most of the time and on the right hand side next to the pearl week\log front

Catfish in general do hide a lot.
I find it a bit annoying. They take up stocking level in a tank, yet you hardly see them

I can't remember the last time I saw my Syno petricola

Yeah my annoyance is slowly going up as well, im considering reducing the school a bit when I have to break down the tank for the new cabinet in a few months as I have the gobies, ottos and shrimp that pretty much cleans al lthe way along with the pest snails
