    Hi guys,

I purchased a pair of silver dollar about 3 months ago. They were juviniles when I purchased them, around the size of a R5 coin.

In the last 3 months they have almost quadrupled in size and are now almost as big as my oldest blood parrots. They are very peaceful and are quick beautiful, but I am concerned as to how big they can grow. The information available on the net is all a little misleading and contradicting.

I have never kept them before, so I was wondering if anyone who has kept them before has some advice, specifically to their max size they can grow. They are sleeping now so I dont want to disturb them so I will post some pics in the morning.

Growth is pretty rapid initially, but that slows down eventually and usually evens out at about 15 to 20cm as @Hein@1979 said. They look to have reached maturity, so I figure the remainder of their growth from now won't be too rapid.

@David Kusner these look like they're Metynnis argenteus so if you're looking for info online about the species, search for that rather than "silver dollar", which could refer to any of 20 or so species. Some dollars reach only 10cm, while others reach about 30cm.

I have 4 different types of Dollars.
The standard silver ones are about 15cm and have seemed to have stopped growing.
The spotted ones are at the other end of the scale, and are a lot smaller. Maybe half that.
