Slow release plant fertilizer

Hi there

I wonder if anyone can help . I am setting up a low tech planted tank . Is there any product out there that i can put in my sump to assist with plant fertilization ?

Something like a slow release pellet or stick . Looking for an alternative to liquid ferts .

Looking for something i can drop into my sump and just replace once finished .

 

Hi,

Dont know of any slow ferts that you can place in your water column/sump but you could use osmocote root tabs in your substrate. It releases over a period of 12-16 months i think.

depends on type of plants you keep, root feeders or plants that feed primarily through their leaves.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but amazon and cripts are root feeding plants.

If you make use of Seachem tablets they need to be refreshed every 3de month. Tetra has a tablet but needs to be refreshed once a month although they cheaper works out pretty much the same at the end.
