    Good Evening everyone….

Well as requested by Reedfish I will start a thread on myRays. The male is a Potamotrygon orbignyi variant Motoro stingray that arrived at a size of 13cm and the female is a Potamotrygon Motoro Stingray. Both Rays arrived at a size of about 14cm give or take. At the time I was only going to get the two as my intentions would be to try get the rays to have pups sometime in the future… Did a lot of homework before I took the leap of ordering the ray. When I got the rays home and did the drip acclimating for 30min I released them into the tank with a plastic container as to not get the barb stuck in the net.. I did have the option of the Barb being removed when I orded them but I did not want to put the rays through all that stress as the barbs will grow back in about 4 months and I would have to do it again..So as for the first night I did not feed as they were burrowed at the time I fed all the other fish. On second day they were both all over the tank and I decided to give them some earthworms and as they touched the worms they ate. So for the first month or two they would be fed on worms. At the time I did have them with a Banjar red Arowana and was feeding him Hake that was cut up and a piece fel to the bottom of the tank and the male ray ate it up to my surprise. So I then decided to try cut the hake up smaller and drop some more into the tank and they both ate the hake.. As from then I would only feed Hake that gets soaked in Norrish from Seachem.Have also now started to feed shrimp and they love it..The Male Ray is now 25cm and the Female 21cm.so they are doing grate and have filled out nicely..

About two or so months ago I went to the pet shop where I got my rays and saw a little female ray that was returned from a client. The disk was damaged and bleeding and she was very underfed so I could not bere to see it like that and land up dieing. So landed up bringing the little one home and nurseing her. Treated her with salt and the min I gave her worms she ate like a little piggy. Within two weeks of treating the little one had healed and was in the tank with the other two. Now they all happy as can be. Little one is still small 11cm. but won’t be for long lol.
At the moment they are in a 1.7m x 600 x 700 tank along with my RTG and a Temporallis.. Filtration would be a c2400 and a sump with a 5000lreturn pump. Also have a small power head in the tank to help to lift the dirt. Not much for décor as I need the floor space..

They are truly amazing! Really well done job. If I may ask what is the cost of one of them. Can't be cheap.

I love rays, but they're not for me.. It's like babies.. nice to look at, but give them back to their parents afterwards..

Once your rays reach sexual maturity, you may need to separate them as the male can get quite aggressive, taking chunks out of the female if he reaches maturity before her.. Any plans on a bigger tank? If so, I'd love to see the build.. :)

Keep us updated.. You have me intrigued..

@MariaS - sorry I was referring to all your fish in general not just the Rays in this thread. Runs in the family. But it's awesome @Cesar ! Maybe any pics of the male or female issue yet? I'm sure not a lot of people can say they have Rays at home! :)
