    Hi Maria, yes, original pair, after 28 pups I have now separated the male and retired the female.

    I didn’t realise you have had so much success with breeding your Rays

    I think retiring the female is a good move. This must have put a big strain on her body.

    What is the ideal size tank for 1 or 2? Are they light sensitive?

    Ideally as big as possible, floor space is more important than height, a female will become 50cm+ in diameter so I would recommend something along the lines of 2.4m x 1.2m x 0.6m or larger.

    These dimensions make it an “awkward” size for a typical room, you also need to provide for adequate sump filtration.

    No they’re not light sensitive, in unplanted tanks you just need to provide sufficient light to see them.
