There is a big push here to get solar panels installed in your house.
The government will help with the initial capital outlay, but you have to pay it back over a period of time.

Looks like after 3 days they have now fixed it... time for a monster water change this weekend...

It is a massive outlay, but admittedly we got lucky in that it mostly came with the house - just upgraded one or two things to suit the number of people. All in all, I think it would cost just over a million now - and like @Reedfish said, the gov will help out a little - but only when looking at doing it the way we have, the other expenses are barely covered by that help. Now you have to have all these extra certificates and licenses because we aren't paying Eishkom enough money or something stupid. Same as we pay a levy double our water bill because we don't use enough municipal water...

    Basically... TIA....

    Glad its all fixed!
Its very sad that being in the disastrous situation we are with power, they dont help and encourage people and give subsidies and instead its rolls and rolls of red tape

    @Reedfish ,

Couple years ago, Eskom gave rebates for you to convert from geyser to solar or heat pumps, if you were a homeowner
At the time, i took advantage of it and had my heatpump installed and ESKOM covered close to R6000.00 of the total price which they paid directly to the solar company
and you didnt have to pay it back

    Wishful thinking nowadays

Welcome back! Never fun when that happens... but as always... "have you tried turning it off and on again" is the first thing the IT guys will do:lol:

That was the problem! Windows update crashed in the middle. I asked IT person if I could just switch off. He said it would make things worse.
So had to wait for it to finish. Then he uninstalled stuff (don't ask me what). Then did a disk clean. Then reinstalled stuff.

He's a decent chap. But he gives a half an hour technical lecture. I am not really interested. Just make my machine work

I worked in an IT company a few years back... the number of times those things would happen was astounding, and match that with the number of times people had "issues with power" when they hadn't plugged the machine in... well....

My colleague has been known to do that.

IT phoned a bit earlier to see if everything was working OK.
    Thankfully it is.
But I got the 1/2 hour earful about what went wrong

I have observed the start of some cyano in my tank. This outbreakb is solely on the leaves of aome plants at this stage and I want to nipnthis in the bud. I believe this is occuring mainly because of running the tank for extended periods of between 10 and 12 hours daily under LED lights. I will also cut back on the feeding. Its the Darth Vader version...20200212_121257.jpg
