Yes I believe it is a tricky little plant lol!
It was one of the plants @TetraJacques was so kind to give me so I'm going to try my hardest to get them to grow :D
Maybe then with the creeping Jenny I can get one of those little plant holders that stick to the glass and then it can stick out of the water..

Growth has been slow, but I'm actually really happy that these plants are growing still, considering my previous badluck with plants :D

So I went shopping today (yaaay) and came home with some new fish friends!
6 neon tetras and 3 black neons (so I now have 6 black neons in total) amd 4 female guppies so the 2 boys have some company too lol..
Sadly couldn't find any head and taillight tetras or otos, so next week I'll go looking for those plus some snails.
I also bought a bacopa monnieri that I've planted in the back right corner of the tank.

    Looking great @T. Guppy !
Yes I also hate shopping in general but love shopping for fish / plants way too much
Another cheap and easy stem plant that fills out nicely and quickly is Ludwigia Repens.
Ottos are social creatures so buy at least 3. Else they’ll be shy and miserable. I love ottos!

    Thank you!
I got 3 more otos today and got a stow away (which you've seen in my other thread).
I'm now quite happy with the stocking, so I'll leave them to all settle now and hopefully everyone will be healthy and happy!

Hello everyone! Been a while, hope you all had a great December holiday and a happy new year to you all!!

Been working during the holidays, so I've been giving my tanks very little attention lately, but the plants are growing so well!! Here's some photos of both my tanks!

My 3ft, haven't done much trimming, and the star grass is growing really well!!
Still struggling with algae on the glass, and I bought more otos but I struggle with them, I was at 4,im now down to 1 again and I just cannot figure out why they keep dying off on me...
    IMG_20200112_101858.jpg

My 30l, the baby cories have grown up nicely! Plus the little killifish I got by accident is swimming around quite happily even though he's alone with the cories

Same to you- and the tanks are looking a lot fuller! And you'll be able to trim and replant a bit more.
I actually really dig stargrass - I had major algae issues on that plant in particular around the 2/3 month mark of my 2ft setup before it eventually balanced out a bit.
That and hydrocotyle tripartita for whatever reason battled at the beginning.

    Anyway, looking good!

Oh WOW your tanks look good! Plants seem happy and have grown out a lot. You must be very pleased?

Edit: would it be possible to raise the water level so that the hood covers the water line? To me it always looks a bit nicer on a hooded tank.

    Great job!

On the 3ft I would suggest hiding the heater (can go pretty much horizontal hidden by plants) and thermometer.

Then take a fts and crop out the stand and hood and enter it for ToTM

PS you can also push that rock (centre) about 1cm deeper into the sand, will look more natural.

I’m dead serious about ToTM. Looks great, and only 3 months in!
