Prime is very good. So is Seachem safe for larger volumes. I first allow my water to stand in a barrel for a few days while I bubble air through it. The night before I do WC i add Prime. Do this weekly. Havent lost a fish due to WC in years.

I use both. I honestly can't tell which is better but Prime is highly rated in reviews and the manufacturer claims it does more than just take out chlorine. There's a special on prime at the moment. 30% extra for free. So you can treat 13000l for R260; assuming you're using 5ml per 200l, I tend to be a little heavy handed.

I always used to use Seachem Prime and then I changed over to Scape dechlorinator, stop using scape as I could not find it on the ERM. so I started buying Seachem Safe the powder form it is much more concentrated and last much much longer....

I assume you have got a heater in the barrels to warm it up :)

Also use Seachem Prime or Safe.

Never lost a fish to water changes either, excellent products

Nope. I keep fish that like the water at about 20 or 21 degrees. The water is in a 200L barrel and is at room temperature when I do the WC. Being in PE we dont get extreme cold. In winter it can drop to 7 or 8 degrees but during the day its in the mid teens. I add the water slowly (probably about 30 minutes for 30 L). No major temperature fluctuations

Probably not as I think they are designed to neutralize chlorine and chloramines. I would however use activated carbon with borehole water to remove any elemental impurities that may be in the water

I use Prime as well. I normally take my water out 24 hours before i use it and add prime at that point.

+1. Honestly I'd filter the water first before using it in tanks, lab tests are also helpful to determine what is in your water :)

@imran sheik , I think @TheGrissom was meaning run the borehole water through a filter with charcoal before it enters your tank.

Was using prime for many years. This year I switched to bio elite Ac++. It is manufactured locally.

Very happy with it so far. 397674e36aac1985393f550da7e4cf35.jpg
