The lfs also had something called a Giant Borneo Python Eel.
A rare Mastacembelus sp spiny eel.
Also stunning, but it was really expensive. So got the Tire Track instead.

If memory serves me right they are both quite rare which i suppose explains the price

Is tyre track eating or you baby feeding again?

If you look in the photo you will see some blood worms

I asked the lfs to feed them before it was netted out.
Wanted to check I wasn't starting with a problem fish.

A very handsome fish, there. What was the LFS feeding before you got it?

I used to have a peacock spiny eel (M. siamensis) that was a troublesome eater, but I slightly buried the food (defrosted bloodworm) and it took to that, eventually just eating bloodworm around the tank. It loved to root around, though. Maybe give that a shot?

It was eating the blood worm.
Ideally I want it taking the same food as the other predatory fish I have - smelt & prawn

Does it not show any interest in food at all? Maybe it's a strictly nighttime feeder? I had a few catfish and eel-like species that would only feed once not only the tank lights were off, but the surrounding room lights as well.

Although, not to cause concern, but now would be the time for looking for any problems with the fish. Signs of injury, deformity, or disease around the mouth, stomach region, and anus are places to start looking for things that would affect feeding and appetite. I can't see anything from the picture, but a look up close might help?

That's all I can think of to throw out there for now.

    Regards,

It's still realtievly new (not even a week) so I am not too concerned yet.
I have found that predatory / oddballs take a little while to settle in.
