I have no idea how big the colony is.

I took 9 little guys out (1-1.5cm) over weekend to grow out. About 2 weeks ago I sold 10 youngsters 3-4cm and there are a couple left that size.

A week later they appear to have doubled in size compared to the shelldweller

    Very nice, well done.

Must say, it does frustrate me how slowly some Tang fry grows.
My Shellie fry must be about a month old now and are only a mm in length.

    Which Shellies do you keep?

I feed Hikari first bites to mine (Brevis and Similis) and they seem to grow quite quickly, i do try move them to a small volume grow out tank though so i can feed 3/4 times a day and do regular water changes. I find if I leave them in the 3ft with the parents they grow much slower.

    Mine are multifasciatus

    Yeah, that's the thing.
They are in a community tank with their parents
