ViaAqua vs Aqua One Canister Filters, help me decide.

So I had this Cascade Penn-Plax internal filter on my tank for a good couple of years until it failed. So I got another internal filter, but the flow rate was less than I expected with less media space. So I decided I should just rather buy me a canister filter. The only two brands that are available for order are ViaAqua and Aqua One. They are priced about the same, I think ViaAqua is a bit cheaper, but I'm having a hard time deciding witch one to buy. The Aqua One has the most info on the net, and it looks like they have 3 year warranty, while the ViaAqua is hard to get much info on, but has a larger stated flowrate and filter volume.

I know @byronb has used a ViaAqua on his hexagonal tank,
has anybody else had any experiences with these two brands of filter?

Any help would be appreciated .

 

How much are the filters?

 

I think its one of those choose a colour scenarios

 

The Aqua One is R960, but are on a 25% of promotion for R720, and I think she said the other one is R10 cheaper.

Haha, they do look similar, but the differing stats of flow rate and volume makes me wonder.

 

Ordered the Aqua One 700l/h today for pretty cheap, just under R800. Hopefully its descent.

 

Morning. Have a Aqua one 1200 running 3 years now no problems what so ever. And extremely quite. Have to look at the outlet to make sure its running. And one of the bigger media volume canisters out there.

Hi, where did you buy the aqua one filter eventually? Did they sell ViaAqua as well?
