Fun Friday fact. Well not really fun but , If your Juvenile Gold Angel dies (completely stress related) during the night and you only discover it in the morning, your Mystery snails will have had a good breakfast.

So what was the stress you may ask? Well my Canister Filter’s DIY’d intake hose flew off yesterday flooding my cabinet and dining/kitchen area with around quarter of the tanks water which had only just been added on Wednesday with some routine maintenance. So I had to switch off everything for a while and ripped all the pipes out being anything less than gentle because I was alone and I panicked and then after the cleaning I had to refill the tank and now only have a internal filter running that only does 290l/hour on a 260l tank. I was thankfully running them side by side while I got the Canister seeded. The Pipes werepushed in a lot further and were in very tight but the pressure and vibration were more than we thought.

I really wish could get the right replacement parts for the thing but alas no! Back to the drawing board!o_O

What's the model of your cannister?
This is my worst nightmare as I had a tank crack on me before

Yes. It’s a bit of a fear now for me more than ever.

I have an Atman CF-800 that cane with the tank. It was not working when we got it. We have been trying to get it up and running.

Just checked if replacement parts are available. Minimum 35days delivery. I'm pretty sure a hardware will have a joiner of some type that can help you. I'd suggest taking both pipes and getting advice

Ah thanks @Shabir Yeah, I can't get any here and have seen on Aliexpress, but I am not too sure about the authenticity. My Husband has said he will be able to sort it later today with a better DIY solution as @Whoknows also suggested earlier to me. So, here's hoping.

I've also seen on Ali express. I've used them (non fish related) in the past with no hassles. A friend of mine also uses them for fish related goods and it just takes long but the site is legit

Thanks. We will want to replace with proper parts eventually so I might just order them and see how long it takes then replace the DIY.

Not nice when this happens :(

A few years ago, I woke up to 3/4 of my 550L tank water on the lounge floor.
One of the filter connections had come loose

All my piping is white electrical conduit, with small pieces plastic pipes connecting it to the filter. Not one but two clamps on every connection.

Cool. We are definitely going to be doing two clamps this time round.

I’ve also had a brand new tank crack on me.

Probably had it for like 3 hours.

Filled it up with water, installed all the heating and filters, as I was walking out of the room I hear a “tink” turn around and the base cracked, 200L tank. Still no idea how to this day.

Literally dried the tank, slapped silicone in there and filled it back up, didn’t bother me again with any leaks.

I have to say, the worst I have had was a bag full of fish pop in my car with a 20min drive home, that sucked.

Best of luck Featherfin, hope you get it sorted quick. Really sucks when you gotta deal with all this, but hey its part of the hobby, can’t be all fun and games

Ouch. Brand new tank, that's gotta hurt..

My wife has a phobia of the bag bursting before we get home. So she ties the packet of all new fish we get and holds it like you would hold a baby till we get home.. it's funny, but atleast I don't have to worry about the bag popping lol
