Most on my tanks are for breeding or fry. My one 3ft I keep and breeding pairs and have plants in there just want to redone and make it look nice. This morning on my runs I dropped in to builders so looks like I will go your route thanks again for all the info. Just one more thing after I paint it with woodoc can I paint white over?

    I don't see why not!
Just be sure the two paints are compatible with each other.
One tip, your final coat should be applied with a paint roller for a smooth finish. You may see brush marks if it isn't. Before you put the colour coat on, lightly scuff the clear coat with 000 grade steel wool. Don't use sand paper, it'll clog up way too fast, scuffing the clear, will give the colour coat better adhesion!

If you've painted the inside with the woodoc, you shouldn't need any sealer. You should be able to paint directly onto the woodoc.
If not, then you need to seal the wood with Plascon universal undercoat.
Personally, I'd use the woodoc as a sealer as it penetrates the raw wood much deeper than most other undercoats. Just remember to clean off everything before painting!

I will just paint it with woodoc plus the woodoc as a nice color and its going to be low tech so I'm sure one T5 39watt and T8 30watt will be fine that's what its running on at the moment.

I didn't prime the wood first and the only problem I've had is that I didn't use knot seal on my pine boards so the white has yellowed where there are knots!

Woodoc sealer comes in clear so I tinted it black to get a better finish
