For some reason whenever I buy new guppies from my LFS (PetWorldXXL) they always end up dying off and only a few survive, does anyone why this is?

I have tested the water quality and its perfect, i also feed them 3 times a day but i cant fathum why I can never keep ALL of the guppies i buy alive...

How soon after you purchase them are they dying?

Buy from a reputable breeder, and acclimate the guppies properly before introducing them to their new home.

@Dieter Hartig , sounds a bit like an acclimation issue often when you buy new fish the water parameters differ from your own so you need to acclimate slowly . I personally use a version of the drip method, also once acclimated net them and add them to you quarantine tank don't add the water to the tank. The other issue could be adding too many fish at a time causing an ammonia spike but I'm not sure if that would happen overnight?

Can also be that your water parameters are just very different to where the fish come from and have been bred in. Ive lost all my albino guppy juveniles (and some adults) while none of my half black guppies died. Same system, everything. Granted albinos might be less hardy. Find out where they originate from and perhaps try and next time buy guppies that originate from somewhere else. As @Pezulu said, buy from a reputable breeder.

Considering Lil Nic & Rob's posts can you describe your acclimation process?
A fish dying 1 day after moving is very soon

Guppies aren’t the “bomb proof” fish they once were. The newer fancy colour forms have a reputation for being difficult.
They could be dieing from the stress of the transfer to your tank. Slow acclimatision could help in future.

A hungry guppy is a healthy guppy. Not knowing what your tank looks like and if it can sustain the input of 3 feedings a day, or what your water quality is with all this feeding. My initial thought would be to improve your QC and reduce the feeding - doubt they have seen 3 time a days meals at the LFS.

I float the bag for 30 min, then I add some of my tanks water into the bag and wait 15min then repeat and then I pour them into my net over the sink so I don’t get the water from the bag into my tank and then I add them in.

My acclimation process hasn’t killed any of the other fish I’ve done it to...

Unfortunately - clarity and quality might have very little to do with this.

What fish survive straight form the LFS?

I can kill very healthy guppies that originate in one tank and move it to another also well planted tank and and several will die ... reason is not temp or even pH (when I bother to check that) but the TDS swing. A simple way for me to increase TDS is to add all sort of chemical - or I just feed several times a day - waist will take care of the rest. Now TDS is a mess to unpack. Not saying this is your issue just trying to bring other views to the thread.
