A copper based algae killer or add salt, but limit the exposure plants don't like salt much, and no shrimp in the tank if using copper
Waterchanges remove nitrates and replenish minerals, I would imagine it would work for nitrates, not sure about mineral replenishment though...

That sound right, a decrease in pH should be gradual and will be impacted by waterchanges, both the volume and pH of your tap water
