My tank is 2m x 600 x 600. If you can do the 12mm with bracing and like Zoom said use wood and the polystyrene then you should not have a problem....
My 2m is 10mm bottom, but with bracing all the way around the bottom of the tank. (8mm thick and about 30mm wide) And to finish it off a nice 20mm...

Looks really good... You'll need to scale down on your lighting on this tank. Java fern grows slow and does not need fertilizers....
