Hey bro . . . when you get the dwarfs . .please put them in a separate tank and keep them there. A 3ft is perfect, 29*C, ph6.3 - 6.5 and lots of java moss or hornwort with no light.

They wont breed or be active in a huge community such as that. You should set your ph to 7 today and drip the water through an airline into a bucket and place the pair with the bag water into it. . .drip for about 2 hours and then net the pair out and put them in the tank . .

When breeding them, set the ph to 6 or closest.

Yes TM, i have made up my mind, def seperate tank just for them. Why no light? Lucly have extra canister that will be perfect for a 3 or 4 footer. Setting up tonight.

They seem to be more happier will less light. Alternately put the light in, but stain the water with either black water extract, (expensive route), or use peat in the filter.

Power filters are a no no if you want the fish to breed . . .air driven filters are best . .so get your hands on a sponge filter ASAP.

hey, nice tank!! just a word of advice, that plant on the left corner (the purple one) isnt a true aquatic plant.. it'll whither and die soon.. so dont feel bad if it does.. lots of lfs store this plant though which is strange..

That's a monster of a tank, very cool!
But why such small groups of fish?
I had a school of 19 harlequins in a 3ft at one point, you should definitely fill up your numbers a bit and you should see their behaviour perk up :)

Whipeme, Yep im constantly ading new fish but we dont really have the stock in George. Only 1 good 'fish' petshop. Im getting there.
dangerousd, The wood is bit difficult. the tank has 4 braces on top so im limited what can fit in. Plants.....when there is available i buy them....lack of stock.
    Thanks guys for the comps.

    Hi Go Big
There is a nice shop in Ironside road next to kentucky. The dude is scotty and normally very helpfull. I must 100% agree with whipme I would go for LARGE schools 20+ of fish and than less different types. For excample a group of 10-15 angels and 40 Blue finned Columbians (Hyphessobrycon colombianus) or other big tetras and than TONS and TONS of plants.
Lovely tank and have fun with it

Hi Guido/ Yes Scotty is the only proper fish shop in George. Apparently he is also a member here but not very active.
