So all the shrimps are alive and accounted for, one was even busy on the HOB filter in the current where the water comes out, not giving a crap about where he even is :)

I did a 25% WC and all seems good, all but one shrimp went in to hiding after that, seems I have a few maidens and 1 Rambo...

The Perspex lid has started to warp, after googling it i see thats normal, so I have arranged to get a glass lid of the same dimensions.

So I did a head count before doing the daily WC, 1 dead, 6 i could fidn and rest of the shrimps i could not see.

The filter also needed me to be cleaned out due to all the java moss getting in to it and reducing the flow rate a lot, but i did not see any shrimps in it, so hopefully the missing ones were just hiding away

    4 months ago with Co2
    Then I stopped the Co2
    No fertilizer tabs or liquid
I don't think Co 2 makes such a big difference. I think it's more if you just plant them to keep them growing. More like a booster. And you don't get melted leaves.

yeah the C02 seems to not be as highly rated as a few years ago, and using soil vs gravel makes a huge difference for the plants, all i really still want to get for my tank is a white anubias, a neocaradina shrimp and a snail for cleanup crew as algea from NTS is becoming a problem.

Just annoyed at how the shrimps I have seems to avoid the food i got them and the algae, but everything else they have basically cleaned up completely

The Shrimps helps for cleaning up.
I don't get algae - Or I do they just like to eat it.
I do feed them frozen brine shrimps and algae waffers. Frozen brine twice a week and waffers every day.
We have the cherry shrimps and they eat everything even there mates:eek:

    Small update...

    Week4.jpg

I moved the light to the other side as the tank seems to be getting a lot of light from the window at the right to the point that plants that was pushed too deep in to the gravel by the glass is growing.

    IMG_20201220_090812_5.jpg

I also have a few molts in the tank this morning

    IMG_20201220_090917_2.jpg

and I also added 10 Blue velvet shrimps and they seem to have made the Tangerine Tigers a bit more social and they are no longer hiding all the time, the Netrite snail was in hiding so could not get a good photo of him unfortunately.

Perspex lid was replaced with a Glass lid as it started warping from all the condensation, next item on my list for the tank is a DIY canister and inline heater.

So while I was making ginger beer and waiting for the pot to simmer I noticed that my tangerine tiger is also berried, I really didnt expect them to get going like this in hard water....

Im honestly a bit shocked that I have both caradina and neocaradina breeding in the same tank considering that the caradinas like softer water

Small update, I counted 4 berried females, 2 from each species, but they were a bit shy for photos today.

I also noticed the hairgrass has some white stuff on,some hard to see and some of it fairly obvious im assuming they are putting crawlers down, or is this some weird algae? I only noticed this after I did some trimmings and cleaned up all the moss floating all over the show.

The airstone is just a temp measure to try and keep tank a bit cooler with the extra water movement and surface agitation.
