A Package lift needed from Cape Town to Windhoek Namibia

Hi All

I am writing this in the hope that someone will be able to assist me with bringing a package up to Namibia from Cape Town or if any one knows of someone coming up for business or holiday from the cape that can assist.

The Package consists of Fish Food so nothing dodge.:eating: I am now in a desperate state as my stocks have finnished and my discus are suffering because of this.

Possibly. Our company are currently working in Windhoek. I will speak to the guy running the project. He was there on Monday and Tuesday so not sure when he will go again. Send me a reminder on Monday.

 

Permits? Not with Namibia. They have a trade agreement with SA. You shouldn't need permits. Well, depending on what you're sending, obviously.

@SeanJ All animal and animal feed related products need a permit from the state vet. Foot and mouth is to blame for this, you also need permits to transport animals within Namibia as they want to know all moments of live stock due to the same reason. Its all due to the trade agreement with the EU as we export large amounts of beef and lamb over there.

@jpvd007 - As you have stated yourself it is illegal to import animal feeds into a country without the correct approvals and Namibia is extremely strict due to the issues you alluded to above. In South Africa it includes a State Vet exam which forms part of the Department of Agriculture inspection process on each shipment. All of these inspections and permits adds cost to the shipment. Should a person be apprehended at the border with controlled goods requiring permits etc they do face a very real chance of a fine or arrest for criminal prosecution.

 

Ok, food. Yeah. Not such a good idea... But what specific foods is it? Surely you can get some fish foods in Namibia that you don't have to import them?
