So after a long battle with everything from camera and PC gear giving up on me and re-doing the shrimp rack I have finally made up my mind and decided to do the Juwel Rekord 96 as its my first tank and I dont wanna sell it... ever.

Sorry for pictures, Ill get better ones and the video will be up at some stage.

So without further ado here we go (please dont give me too much grief...):

    Gear Used:
Juwel Rekord 96 tank in black (lid removed)
All Pond Solutions Black Twin T5 90cm light unit
    JBL CrystalProfi E401 External Filter
JBL Protemp b20 Undergravel Heating system
    Marina (i think) 150W heater

    Hardscape:
Dragon stone I had left over
    Red Moor Root

JBL Sansibar River Gravel (fine) used 1 3/4 bags so about 18kg

    Plants:
    Tropica Eleocharis 1,2 Grow x1
Tropica Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo' 1,2 Grow x1
    Tropica Anubias Nana Bonsai x3
Tropica Lilaeopsis brasiliensis 1,2 Grow x1
    Aquadip Anubias Nana
    Aquadip Anubias Coffee (spelling)
    One lowly Java Fern

    Animals:
    Amano Shrimp
    Sakura Red Shrimp
    Lesser Long Nose Shrimp
    (200-300 Sakura on their way)

So I started by cleaning out the tank and trying different locations with the stone, but when it came to planting my assistant had an emergency so I gave up and just places stuff, so this is truly a one placement layout. The wood and the stone really blend nicely in my mind and I have more small stones so please any comments are welcome.

Thanks m8. It will hopefully grow in quite well in the coming weeks. The snails and shrimp are being posted to me tomorrow so Ill have them in on Wednesday.

In about 2 weeks ill move the Chocolate Gourami into the tank, just waiting for the plants to shoot some roots into the substrate.

Very nice. I also have substrate heater in mine, it's a SACEM one from 10 years ago. Still perfect, but my thermostat is unreliable. What thermostat have you got on your cable? I cannot find a stand alone thermostat anywhere?

None. This is the new Jbl series so it's not a heater as per se. It heats to create a convex current not to actually heat the water. I can hold the cable without burning.

Yes, exactly what mine does. But do find it needs a thermostat, especially in summer. Mine is 2 m long and only 25 watt.

Where did you get these colourful shrimp? Have not seen any FW shrimp at any of our LFS at all. Would really like to have a shrimp tank.
