Any members or people looking to get in to CA CICHLIDS and needs help to get started or on how to go about looking after these amazing fish do ask us, me and other members can help as far as we can. Ca cichlids is not big in SA and most likely not any time soon as they need big tanks and a minimum can be kept together and in some casses alone.
U can start of with a 4-5ft tank and have a few cichlids at +-5cm in size and work your way down to 1,2 or 3fish at the end.

Its this from slayers/michael cichlids?

 

I know that michael got his zonatus and redhead to spawn, slayer got a few from somewhere and was advertise as zonatus x.

As far as i know there is no zonatus x. just another mix breed.

 

but is does look stunning

I little update on my (now) teens, they are a healthy 20cm long - I know there is a non American cichlid in there but it is part of the family so deal with it
