Aquarium thermestat?

hi

im trying to do some experiments this side, and ive been wondering weather a person gets aquarium thermestats for sale, meening, thats not part of a heater assembly.

Want to be able to conect a pump to it, want to try my hand at thermal and solar heating

If you mean temperature controllers there must be plenty companies in SA selling these, I know tank specific ones are available on eBay, your lfs may be able to get some.

Want to do solar heating with pump connected to the controler, but on a timer, lets say from 8 till 4 daily, will slowly pump water threw pipe coil till temp is ritched, then the pump must cut out, i will then have a backup heater for night time.

its just the basic idea, not sure weather or how the results will be

 

I've seen controllers (overseas though) that will switch on and off as a heater does, when it reaches a set temperature.. That might be better than a timer..
