Here is my male.... He just wouldnt sit still for a good picture

 

Sometimes if they don't embrace properly, then the eggs won't be fertile. But they get better at it! Give the female a month and try again, they will probably do a better job I find the second time you put them together they are ready and know what to do

They are really cool fish. They seem to be very intelligent and I don't know if its just me, but they seem to form a bond with you. I have one fry in particular that when ever I sit at my computer (they are next to me then), will hang around watching me! Not going to be giving that one away!

Fish etc in Cape Town has some great stock with a variety of colours and fins. I'm currently breeding with a male I bought there.

 

Hey I'm using this method with success so far. The mail will eat weak fry only. I've seen him suck up fry and spit them straight out. This article confirmed my hopes. Just separate the male and female so she can recover.
