Wanted: Boyu TL 550

Anyone on Cape Town selling a Boyu TL 550.

Mine needs a new front glass due to scratches. Even a broken one with a donor front glass will do.

 

Love my 550 TL ... how easy would it be to replace the front glass ... not sure normal silicone with stick the plastic and glass.

As long as it is easier than trying to buff out scratches with cerium oxide ( 4 days ...nothing ) I'm game .

You can hot-glue the plastic to glass ... looks like silicone when settled .

But you have a point...will Google it.

This is my second TL 550 other one has Rams in . Love the tanks ..so easy to operate .

 

Must agree - had mine since new, never did a good LED conversion on it, but several PLL tubes changes and the hood plastic became brittle. So decided to go flat top on it .. best move ever (I have more space to park stuff)



Hope you find a tank that's glass is still in goof shape, these do scratch easily.

BTW "hot-glue the plastic to glass" has never worked for me - then again not all hot glue is made equal.

 

Your tanks looks great . Got a price for a new tank at R4100 . Non marine with one light.

Going to give it a week and then just bite the bullet if I don't come right.

Actually just a bit peed off .spend R575 on 100g cerium oxide and bought all these buffing pads for nothing ...never trust YouTube!
