Cabinet building for my Giant gourami tank

I've been doing wood work for 30 years. Any wood will work, but you need to seal it properly because of the water and humidity. I wanted to built it with yellow wood, but it is about 5 times more expensive and heavy. If I built it with yellow wood, I wouldn't paint it, just seal it.
