Canister Specials??

    eheim is the best IMO, great quality, silent very silent and the dont break easly to. worth the money u spent on them!

    and pet master can get spares if i am not mistaken.

    Sorry maybe this is the wrong thread and I did not want to Hijack it, I did buy the Tetra 6-1 test kit and did a test, all tests are OK so far. I will test again in a days time again to check, while on the subject what test kit is better that the Tetra 6-1 kit ???

    i use tetra test kits nothing wrong they for what u need them

    @Andrewv: The test kit may say everything is fine but you can still get "New Tank Syndrome" and loose all of your fish. I suggest you read this informative article regarding it: http://www.firsttankguide.net/newtanksyndrome.php

    I will not dispute that fact that Ehiem is the best as they are very pricey and they are a German product. The TETRATEC EX1200 is also a silent very silent and it is also a German product. In fact my Dophin 7500 airpump makes more noise than the TETRATEC EX1200.

    Just my R0.02 -you can't go wrong with Eheim. My first canister I bought approx. 35 years ago was an Eheim.
    Pricey, but the price is long forgotten and the quality remains.
    You can get spares in RSA, but shouldn't need them too often, they are built like a German tank ;-)

    Eheim all the way. Have a fountain pump of theirs, must be close to 20 years old.

    Wonder what happened to SACEM. They were really good back in the days.
