    @A new day

    Looking good

    I would put them in more water. At least 1/4 of the pot deep.

    If you google image Sarrecenia in habitat
    You will see that they often grow in ponds and creeks. So they really do like it wet.

    To dig this thread up:
    I managed to germinate some Drosera spatulata and tokaiensis outside, no show from the SA species so I got more seeds from another grower. I set up a germination tank for the seeds, including Drosera natalensis, nidiformis, aliciae, burmanii, venusta, and some hybrids. Got them under lights all day:

    Got a collection permit for the cape, so I expect to produce a considerable collection over the next few years. Will be collecting some capensis and trinervia in Agulhas this weekend :D

    They're looking good! My collection has exploded in the meantime. I just sowed 9 sundew and 2 butterwort forms today. Lots of other dormant local plants and seeds for winter

    The pitcher plant made a beautiful flower. Was still a bud yesterday, I wonder if the petals will unfurl more?

    @A new day

    The flower is fully open.
    Can't remember if they are self pollinating or not.

    They are super open. They generally don't self, they'll drop pollen onto the lower parts which you can dab onto the styles with a paintbrush :)
