I did mention this in another thread 2 weeks ago. But no one believed me. I think it was the thread where Vis said he lost a fish or two after a water change?

from this thread, It appears that most ppl do add a little something to their water and will not fill ér up directly from the tap, so we have to assume that the majority is correct (ask the audience).....

I will thus not recommend my method, just emptying the tank, (sometimes even up to 80%) and refill from the tap.

I must add however, before I start doing any water changes, I check on the condition of the tap water (visibly and by odour) and if there are any bubbles in the water or there is a faint smell of ammonia, I know my municipality recently did dosing, and I'll leave it for a day or two. I guess I've just been lucky for 40 years.... (and I'm serious when I say.... "Please do not try this at home")..... I also refill at a very slow rate.

NO, that was about poisons from the mines leeching into the watertable.
