Im in kensington near eastgate but im often in your area and travelling is not a problem.i wanna do up my 3 foot and if what i read is true 1 block of pfp should suffice so i'll need enough for that.

Well im near Bedford Centre, across the road infact…. You welcome to some of my Chemicult but I must warn its the margarine tub kind… not in the blue packet…. Ive heard they may differ ( And some people infact advise not to use the margarine tub variety ) but ive had it in my set up for over a year without any issues ? The label still shows it as being the Hydroponic Chemicult though so its up to you.

Let me know by pm if you keen and then we can make arrangements

I seem to recall that Chemicult is available in two forms... one is packaged and distributed in a small plastic tub ( similar to a margarine tub ) and the other kind is simply packaged in a blue plastic bag / packet... i also seem to recall that its best to use the blue packet rather than the tub... but ive used the tub one with no issues ?

    Pleasure bud...

Just letting the new tank cycle for a while then im going to transfer all the plants and stock and start a thread etc !

If im lucky I might be able to do that this weekend... Needless to say if you don’t come right in a week or two, you welcome to take the silica from my current tank… I wont be using it for the new tank, and will in all likelihood just throw it out… after a good rinse it will be good as new / should be more than enough for a three foot…

    Hi Guys,

There are different types of Chemicult for the fertilization of different plants. The one that I have recommended is the Chemicult for hydroponics. It is the one that is sold at Agricultural Co-operatives for vegetables grown in hydroponics. You can, as far as I know also get this in a tub, but you should ask for the Chemicult for Hydroponics and not use the orchid mixes or the African Violet food. Some of the Orchid mixes are very high in Ammonia and have no trace elements so the ammonia part is dangerous for fishes and the lack of trace elements means the aquatic plants will not be fertilized with what they should be getting.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
