@RGV: Yeah, Rift Lake Cichlids rock! You cannot go wrong with them.
    Oddballs add interest...

I use an old Betta container as an earthworm feeder for the loaches:

    Thanks!
It works like a charm, because the earthworms, when just chucked into the tank, are wont to bury themselves into the substrate, where only the loaches can dig them up.
The 'bettafeeder' acts like a slow release.

I think I have the unlikeliest tankmates ever:
    DSC09888.jpg
The clownloaches were the original inhabitants of the tank, followed by the irresistable albino angels,
    DSC09907.jpg
joined by a pair of eartheaters, refugees from the leleupi tank,
    DSC09925.jpg
and more refugees in the form of sardine cichlids.
    DSC09895.jpg
Which gives us the unlikeliest bunch of tankmates, ever!

Diet, gym membership with personal trainer...

But seriously, I have a thing for fat loaches like some people have a thing for fat cats.
    So I love your polkadot!

the tinfoils and cigars are about 14cm so the clowns are about 10-12 and are fattening up quite nicely.

I've got a yoyo loach now for 5 years. I bought it as a Pakistani loach but discovered that it is a yoyo loach instead. Them my Kuhli I call him grandpa. He's the only survivor since I got the tank and that is 19 years now. You only see him now and then but he looks fat and happy I don't know how old they get but he is still alive but and going.

I belive it starts with your first loach in a bag at your lfs. If only I had more tanks then the problem might be solved

Sorry Caudelia! My boys (7 and 3) have been taught to stand arms length away from the tank with their hands behind their back! Or else I will make them carry buckets during water change days

Feed him to the fish, but do it feet first so you can see the horrified expression on his face.

That's what I told my 5yo would happen if I catch him meddling in my tank.

    Sorry for your loss.
