    Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Carbon dioxide requirements depend on the plant species you have and can be quite different from aquarium to aquarium. Slow-growing plants, such as Anubias, often require only a little CO2. Fast-growing plants such as the very beautiful Green Cabomba or the decorative Red Tiger Lotus (Nymphaea lotus) have very high CO2 requirements.

    Fertilization

A healthy aquarium biotope requires fast-growing plants; therefore, regular CO2 fertilization is crucial.

sera CO2-Start - for small aquariums

sera CO2-Start consists of the sera CO2 Diffusion Reactor and the sera CO2-Tabs plus. Dissolving one tablet of the sera CO2-Tabs plus releases trace elements and activating substances along with the carbon dioxide. The minerals immediately disperse in the aquarium water. As the CO2 slowly and evenly permeates through the special plastic material of the sera CO2 Diffusion Reactor, it becomes available to the plants for several hours. This allows sufficient time for all

Anyone know if this system is any good?

I have used it in the past. The issue is that you have to keep buying the tablets. I think it comes with 15, so you need to do this every day. You need to buy the tablets twice a month. It becomes expensive. Also, it's not very efficient. It could help your plants, but it could also cause Co2 imbalances which could lead to black beard algae. I would actually rather go for a DIY co2 yeast system over this as it's less expensive. Also, excel would probably also work better.

Also, the Nymphea lotus does not have heavy Co2 requirements. I have grown plenty of them in the past without any Co2. Just make sure there are enough nutrients in the tank. Excel will help.

Seriously, there are a bunch of these things on the market. Save your money for a few months and get a proper Co2 system. If you are serious about plants, it will be the best investment into your aquarium equipment, that you could possibly make.
