Cutting plants

Hey guys

i need some advice, ive started a new tank(here is the link: http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/showthread.php?22550-Whole-new-Tank-DIY&p=294741#post294741 )

Seeing as the tank is now running for 5 days can i cut the stem plants that have sprouted side roots or must i wait for a certain time?

also if i do cut them, do i cut then just under the side roots on the stems or lower than that?
