    Cool.Like pat explained to me you get get wild and domestic alencers.either way these fish are amazing either way.Ive only been keeping discus for just over a year and am trying to lean about all the differant discus strains.Keep this thread goin its very interesting

    Just an update on this thread. I managed to get the original alenquers I got from Dirk to spawn last year but only managed to raise 1 young female and then I lost three of the original group. I paired this young female with a large San Merah male and they now have a small batch of youngsters latched on, day 5 now.

    Holding thumbs we get success here.

    Were these wild caught?
    Have a reputation of being difficult.

    No unfortunately not. The Alenquer line is at least 4 generations and the San Merah male is a man made hybrid.

    But both awesome fish nonetheless even though the female is quite small.

    Ok, fry are fs a week now and there are still 17 in total, so looks like the parents are behaving.

    This is incredible!

    Hard to believe that these little guys turn out so beautiful when they grow up!!!

    Maybe one day I can try keeping discuss, until then my pockets are to low to afford these guys.

    Fingers, arms, n legs crossed, and hair plaited.. A beautiful process I can't wait to be part of again! (even if all I do is feed them and water changes) lol..
