    @pHish_man,

    If the adults are parasite free, shouldn't the fry be clean too?

    @Reedfish

    All these discus in this thread are Malaysian fish I obtained in March last year. These guys are not the para-free discus I obtained in Sept this year.

    At some stage I will start a new thread and document my progress with the pf fishes, but for now this thread is purely relating to my Asian fish.

    But yes, with the parasite free discus, the fry will be clean too.

    hope this clears up the confusion.

    Thanks Jason

    As you know, when you breed discus you cannot keep them all, so i will need to get rid off quite a few of this batch as i have a second batch that is now 3 months old. And then coupled with my MONSTER parasite-free fish that are rocketing in growth i have my hands full.....lol

    Anyway, the plan is to retain a few of the young that look like the spotted snakeskin as shown in pic 2 and then use these down the line to form breeding stock and select for the red spotting and enhance this trait.

    Thanks for all the kind words @Reedfish and @mattie

    So today I have started the process of re-homing the youngsters in the last pic. They are on their way to their new tank in Stellenbosch. The first 6 guys to go are the smallest of the batch ( 6-7cm ) and once they are settled the rest of the group will follow ( another 13 fishes ).

    Nice to see their new keeper is as passionate about discus.

    Thanks for the compliment. Truth be told, Ive just followed the basics as far as discus go, and the parents pretty much did the rest.
