Hi Jason, yes it is lovely to see. But unfortunately disaster struck this weekend and the parents have eaten most of the fry. This is a major set-back as both parents seemed to have done so well with the previous spawn. So back to the drawing board with this pair and will have to see how they do with the next batch.

OMG Andrew are you saying that the parents ate the babies you show in the pic just above ??? They seem so big - too big to eat - DAMN - cannot believe your bad luck. If they were eating on their own can I ask why you did not remove the parents already - that's a question not a criticism - sorry man such bad news !!

@eros111 no, they ate their latest spawn. The previous batch which are the ones in the above photo are safely growing out in their own tank.

This is why I quoted Jason's comment in my post as it was this latest spawn which he was referring to. Unfortunately there are only about 15 fry still latched onto the parents so ja, it is bad news hey.

    Hi @pHish_man

Andrew they are really nice looking hey. Well done on these.
Id like if possible a photo, well lit -of the head region. Therecshould now be a fine dusting of blue appearing in the head area. Can you see it yet?
I still think these guys are going to be something special to look at when bigger. Holding thumbs they turn out as nice as we expect!

    Hi @pHish_man,

Looking very good. Lets see how the colour will shape up on these. Gonna be fun seeing them develop.

Now that is a propper fish room....I use to make, but then I realised I had the 2 most labour intensive hobbies in the world, so I decided to give 1 up, it was the beer, as I decided to move a fridge in my hobby room, and just keep the beer there.

    Hi @pHish_man

Well now Andrew that one is looking stunning hey. Still no hint of colour but it has a nice golden glow hey.
Would love to see this guy at 10cm.

    Rgds
