    So after a massive cull of 91 youngsters due to an issue with deformed dorsals, im left with a decent batch of only 16 youngsters. They are now 33days old and growing well.

    Thanks Quintin. Was a massive hurdle to overcome culling off over 80% of the spawn, but its done now and all part of the process. Lets hope the next spawn goes better.

    I think you well on ur way to being one of sa's finest breeders.you are willing to do the necesarry to not enter deformed discus into the world.you could easily have sold them to unowing people.its proof that its not a money making scheme.and you care for the discus and the hobby.keep up the good work

    Ok, while im waiting for the penangs to spawn again ( without eating their eggs ), thought id post a pic or 2 of some of my other home breds as they are maturing.

    Cross between a male solid turquoise and red turquoise female :

    So the spotted leopard young are 11 weeks today and their parents have another batch of wrigglers due to go free swimming this weekend.

    BEAUTIFUL !! Even though it must be tough to cull I'm sure it is very rewarding to raise such beautiful fish!

    Good job man, pls keep the pics coming as they mature.

    Ok, just moved some of my home bred leopards to their new tank. Will post more pics when they completely settled. Lets hope they pair up soon.
