@Rainstorm, if you battling with Hikari, see if you can find Tetra tablets for bottom feeders
I use a mix of those, Hikari and fresh veg although they also get bloodworm and fish flakes from feeding the rays but those Tetra tablets are quite good too
Just double check the content, I don't have the container with me right now

TetraMin flakes, Cichlid pellets, Tetra discus pellets, and even Koi pellets will work.
Frozen Bloodworm, Daphnia, Artemia and most other frozen foods meant for tropical fish will be relished by Cory's as well.
Even our local Spar has some form of fish food.

    Corydora are omnivorous scavengers.
    They eat just about anything.
Just ensure that they have a varied diet, and they should be good.

Only question if they are (all) fish meal protein. What I mean to say is that the fact there is fishmeal in it, doesn't have to mean all protein came out of that !!

But I think the keyword is : variation.

Even BN's shouldn't be fed vegs only. Those are onnivores as well, but more at the herbivorious side of the spectrum.
Corys even more at the carnivorious side.

Seeing that my comments are never received well - I think I"ll stop coming here as some people are not really helpful when I ask questions about certain things. I'll stick to the whatsapp group and stay there.[/QUOTE]

We certainly hope to continue seeing you on the forum, having the odd disagreement is part of life...
Nowhere you go or nothing you do is a bed of roses..

I don't think anyone means or meant to be offensive or belittle you.. sometimes when we snap at people a little without thinking.. then we get a reaction but then.. we don't like the reaction..
So... I think we ALL agree that the little tiff is not serious enough for you to feel that way and we certainly hope to see you around for a lot longer...
We all adults so... peace made and I want to see those babies grow!!!

    I am sure everyone agrees....

It's primary ingredient so should be a primary source maybe.

Some fish suffer on higher protein diets, just such a variation in the hobby

How did this thread go to hell in a handbasket ?

No kidding ... seriously think people should be limited to 1 post per thread per day esp if they can not stay on topic to some degree or have a reputation of derailing a thread.

    - Anyway

So the topic is green feed, now the true meaning is to grow something green that we can feed our fish.

To this end I have got my paws on some Moringa seeds.

The idea is to actually get them growing and then use them as true green feed for the fish.

    Will keep you posted.

Not quite 'green', but fresh plant goods nonetheless... do any of you green feeders use garlic in conjunction with your fish foods, green or otherwise?

I was doing some reading into green foods last night, and came across a few instances of fishkeepers (many of them marine) using garlic to enhance the appeal of certain greens to their fishes. There is an apparent immunological benefit as well. I do recall seeing a few store-bought dry fish foods that, too, include garlic as an ingredient.

Nobody here supplement this with their veggies?

Haven't before but garlic helps for parasites and taste of the food if I recall correctly

Think the guys that do discus DIY mixes use garlic - not sure if I have seen a good recipe for a green mix, but that sure does sound like a plan, adding garlic.
