@Marius Swart - Wow! Vir my lyk dit absoluut stunning!

If your leaves turn unexpectedly blue or purple, that means a big time Potassium deficiency, very likely other deficiencies as well, certainly Phosphorous.

Bronzing or even turning red is an aquatic plants response to an almost overabundance of light.

Here's the funny thing, though. People like red plants and will do anything to get them to color up but if they are bronzing, it does mean the plant is 99.999% happy but the light is a stressor at this point and turning red is a way to ramp down photosynthesis and protect the organelles of the cell, namely the little chloroplasts themselves and especially the mitochondria from too much damage.

Even more strangely, they do this to protect themselves from UV radiation. The plant thinks to itself, "My word this is a lot of light! I'd better bronze up to protect my autotrophic organs from UV!" but we're growing them under lights that barely emit any UV so they bronze up, look especially pretty and feed for all their worth making us happy and providing lots of cuttings for you to share with your friends.

The short answer: Don't change a thing and keep doing what you're doing

So I had to cut some dying leaves and stuff, sadly dosing more seachem killed most of my hc , doesn't look like someone can help me or maybe they just don't want to? Anyway some pics of my going backwards tank

    Hi Marius

I dont think dosing more seachem will kill your HC...

There must be some other issues here?

    Lets just quickly recap...

    1. You are now running 4 t5`s ranging from 6500 - 8500 K ?
    2. You are dosing the whole seachem range (Iron, excel, Nitrogen, Phophorus, Trace and potasium)?
    3. Uou are running CO2 a@ about 2 bubbles ps?
    4. You are using a strict dosing scheduele, witch you follow day by bay? Dosing when lights are on?
    5. You are doing @ least 30% water changes a week? and not using a gravel cleaner? Just sucking up the water only and replacing with mature water?
    6. Have you checked your tap waters paramaters, phosphates etc?
    7. You are running your lights on for about 8 hours a day?

Look @ all this, and if you are not doing some of those things, it can lead to a failure on your high tech plants.

    @Marius Swart

    Jy klink behoorlik moedeloos jong.

Skêr sal dit wees vir watookal my gat krap!

    Sterkte jong!!

Correct, only 1 tube is 10 000k . I use tap water with dechlorinater . So all that is correct. Funny thing if you look at the HC , the new ones are surviving ,old ones died when I uped the dosage. I still use seachems chart and started dosing sunday every bottle just per bottle spec, will see if there is some improvement today. I check if they can test phosphates

Just a quick question have you tried EI dosing yet, I use it and all is fine none of my plants are showing any type of deficiency.

Havnt tried it, but someone I know is using this, also not happy, also used seachem's range before. I added another pump if it might be flow I don't know. Can too much dose cause stunted growth and leaves dying or too much flow?

Tank is shutting down  been a waste of 10-12000 I had spend. Might rescape it in a few days, or go low tech again. Every type of plant has started dying , only the fish survives  . Might try again, will have to see.
