DIY Reflectors

    Hey guys, soon I am gonna buy a dual 54 watt ballast unit and was wondering how to make DIY reflectors, if anyone has done this please let me know how!?

    Yup. Did you check my DIY build? You need a material called Alanod.

    You could also just paint the inside of the hood with reflective white spraypaint. Works very will in my tanks.

    I used white perspex to line one canopy, and believe it or not white duct tape has served very well in another.

    I bought old used light fittings for R60 , took out the shiny reflectors and made my own .. work perfectly

    What about those sun screens you use for ur car. those silver ones that folds up like this: Z
    I was thinking of linking my canopy with it and its dirt cheap

    I don't think those are very reflective. Yes they stop the sun from melting your dash but can you see your reflection in them?

    I would think that would be more refractive than reflective

    Thanks. Ask the guys on APSA. They should know. The guy I bought from in the Cape no longer has any. If you do get some, keep the plastic coating on until you are finished doing all the cutting and bending but don't forget to take it off or your lights will melt it and then you got problems.
