LOL!! I wont lie im a bit scared of this project because when I start something I end up doing it properly, and im on a very limited budget, I can see this getting out of hand.

I feel your pain... I only started again after more than 10 years not doing anything at all... and realise how stupid I was back then. So many mistakes. So starting up from scratch going for a planted tank is also a pocket emptying project for me. Lol. I'm doing it on my 30l (8g) tank first before I'll move on to the 3 footer.

my advice, is post on the forum the plants you are looking for, most will help you out with offcuts, even if you have to pay members it will still be cheaper and healthier than LFS ... IMO

    Mine are ok with it..

I have them in my pup tank with current from the sump, the internal filter and i still switch on the wave maker after feeding for a while and i have bubbles
You will have to chose a size filter relative to the size of the tank so the current is in proportion

I get so angry... just did a water change on my big tanks and straight away my rainbows are at it and my RAMs are feasting on eggs.

So tempted to setup a cube on the floor and get them breeding

so small update... I'm getting the metal delivered today for the stand, went for 25 X 25 square tubing.
the shelves will be 3 levels starting 250 from floor with the highest at 1500.
I got me 10 X 10L containers yesterday, which will be used for shrimp and fry grow-out, these will all be drilled and linked to a sump, so 1 heater 1 pump, 10 tanks

they are about the same width as a 1 foot @MariaS, Im looking to produce quality shrimp so i have to have the numbers to cull properly.
So the glass cubes will be on the top shelves and used for breading, once i have swimmers they will move into the smaller containers and grow out.

LOL, they are great for everything, im thinking of getting some for my son's legos, nothing worse then stepping onto those pieces first thing in the morning!!!

Also drilled all the containers and did plumbing on overflows. There will be 10 of these containers overflowing into a gutter linked to a sump. The water will be pumped back from sump to a spraybar that drips back into tge containers.
