    The water in each tank was taken from the same body of water at the same time.

    The only difference is that one tank also contains oysters. A single adult oyster can filter and clean up to 50 gallons of water every day.

    Now can I put some freshwater oysters in my tank, say like 4. Going to a dam this week that's got a lot of oysters. Obviously will first quarantine for a while.

    Keeping shellfish alive in a tank is quite difficult.
    You have to give them a constant supply of micro-organisms to feed on, otherwise, they die.
    And when they do, they foul the water.

    oysters are quite a difficult customer.I wont even attempt it.
