Those will destroy the substrate if they are!

    Stunning tank@Chandz!!

Stunning fish, one of my favourites

As has been said, they earthmovers.
They don't eat or bite the plants but they sift through the substrate all the time
I do find that the Surinamensis are more active at this than the tapajo but they still do it
If you going to put them in this tank, I would suggest you scape the tank in a way that they have areas with no plants where they can sift through the sand without uprooting the plants
    and hope that that helps

Yes, they will in my planted tank for now. Next month I will be buying the final stuff for my 800l (including sump), putting it together and transferring all fish across. I would of preferred to get them afterwards but they are so rarely available that I had to get them now. The tank will be island style so there will be a big area of sand for them and the Corys to enjoy. I will be using heavy rooted plants for the island so it won't be such a problem. I've already sold my foreground plants and will sell the rest closer to the time.

Finally got a new stand for the new tank!

So far the back glass has been repainted black, added the black perspex on the overflow box and finished the plumbing.

Please excuse the dust, I still need to clean the tank and sump. [IMG]

Stunning planted tank, how did it handle the fish? Pity it will be dismantled!

Do you have update pics? I'm very interested in the maturation of planted tanks from setup onwards.

Nice, where did you get the blue pipes from? My local hardware never has it.

Everything went fine with the fish.

Unfortunately not. I always forget to take update pic and I've sold off most of plants already.

Controlled Irrigation CC. I bought 25mm so if that's the size you need maybe call ahead to see if they have.

Hardware stores don't sell them, you have to go to an agricultural/ irrigation place.

Pity. Perhaps you could document the journey of your new tank for us?
