I now know the feeling some of you feel when you see there eggs in your tank!!!!

My bristlenose is fanning away his eggs. This guy has been in my tank for only 8 months and the female have been with us for little over 4 months. We are in the process of moving him with the eggs to his own breeding tank. Just hope it works all out.

Any sugestions is welcome at this stage.

Congrats Laracroft. Keeping BN on their own helps keeps the survival rates high, just make sure the water parameters are the same.
The eggs can be exposed to the air for a short time. I would rather wait till the eggs hatch then remove the fry after two/three days to the new tank.
    All the best.

@Khalid, removed cave, male and eggs before I read your post. I just have one question, how do you keep water parameters the same. obviously I use tank water to fill the smaller tank and just added a small amout of RO water. Will ph go up, will NO2 go up? The tank is about 40liters. I have two internal filters in the tank (cascade 300) one with carbon and sponge the other with wool and sponge. Temp is at 29.

No train smash if you moved them already. The first spawn is a learning curve for both yourself and the BN male.
All you can do now is just monitor the egg development and don't panic the father.
What type of BN do you have, temp seems very high for normal ancistrus cirrhosus?

It's the common BN plec. I will turn temp down to 28 is that ok? I think the eggs are about 3-4 days old. When do I start changing water? Questions, questions, questions???

Try bring it down to 27'c over a few days.
The eggs are not as sensitive as others so water changes can be done.

    @Khalid

Question, the male has not come out to feed since the eggs were laid. Should i be worried? I have put some blood worm in for him, but not sure if he is eating.

    Thanks

This is normal, while looking after the eggs and fry he will not eat.
A week after the eggs hatch I usually remove the fry from the father. He gets very upset but settles down eventually.
    or
Just leave about 5 fry with him, these eventually leave the nest faster, giving the male a better/faster chance to recover for the next spawn.

Take this time to relax and enjoy the success.
The hard work of WC and feeding is still to come

@Khalid, so what now, after they have eaten their yolk sacs what do I do next besides feeding them:)

I have a lot of food from the prof, which I can give them. Please need advise on the next steps.

is the father still looking after them?

The utilization of their egg yolk will depend on the temp and sp.
Before the egg yolk is absorbed fully start feeding the profs spirulina tabs.
If the father is still looking after the young wait for the young BN to be kicked out of the cave then start feeding them.

Besides feeding ensure a good water quality by sucking up any uneaten food.
Feed at night, clean up in the morning
Feed at midday clean up at night.

These are just tips and not strict rules

O, I counted about 11 hatchlings, but could be more as it is difficult to see properly into the cave.

Hi everyone, my fry is now 3 days old. I have removed the father, and I can see some of them are already coming out the cave to feed. Really glad about this at the moment.
