Alot of us want to see a fish database here on this site, but it may not be an easy thing to do.

So instead, why don't we use the site properly, and post our own fish profiles under the fish section of the forum.

Maybe have some guidelines for the profiles, like you must include a picture and a proper write up on the fish's care.

I don't see why we should expect one person to do all this by him/herself when we as a community can contribute to it.

    What do you think?

Oscar freak: I agree that we should be able to include fish from the blacklist, but it should be clearly stated so that there is no confusion. I have edited the profile to state the current blacklist status.

    That's a good idea windfire.
I on the other hand can't keep my two together. They flair at each other even though they're in seperate tanks.

    All can post

Windfire – once the tread is open other members will be free to agree, disagree or leave comments about their experience with the particular fish.

    Pictures

I would suggest that you add pictures that you have actually taken yourself, or ask one of the other members if they have a few pictures for you.

just thinking would it not be more convienent to have all the profiles in a single thread so one doesnt have to jump from thread to thread looking for south american fish to another for asian?and maybe no comments should be allowed strictly profiles.

I don't think having them in a single thread would work, purely because you'd have no filing system then. You've have to wade through pages of info to find what you're looking for. Whereas if we use the proper subforums, we'd know exactly where to go to look for a fish profile. It would be cool if we could make use of an article system, and that gets put into it's own place with an A-Z listing of all the fish with links to their profile page.

    We'll get there I'm sure :)

ja but by browsing through the entire singular list one is exposed to more than ones own likes and interests and someone might see something they never imagined and so the hobby grows.but ja as you say we will and must get there.
