    Howzit Everyone'

    I recently started my planted tank but it seems my layer of substrate is too thin. I'm looking for flourite or any other kind of planted tank substrate.

    Why don't you get some dark sand and only use the fluorite where you are going to plant? This will save you some money.

    I use a mix of silica , black sand and 1 bag of flourite (pfp underneath ) and it works very well in a 4ft

    i threw away 4kg of Flourite Black Sand the week after you came to collect the Penguin Tetras. you should have mentioned it. sorry

    No worries, only recently decided to go the planted route. Your tetra's are doing great, thanks again for them

    A couple of people have suggested this route only problem is that it's a 1.5m tank and there are basically plants everywhere. Didn't know planted tanks would be so expensive to set up ha ha
