what are you planning to keep with it?
You know it's very aggressive towards other fish

Yes i know. I have seen them work well in tanks with fish with the same temperament. That is the plan

Bad plan. Maybe consider different fish and later on if you really want one you set up a specific tank for it. Unless this will be a specific tank for it. Would be a bummer if you setup your 2.4m tank with the hopes of a nice big community and you end up with a war zone with battered fish. It may possibly work out but if you are trying to save money as you stated in another thread, then why risk it?

I have another tank and plan to get more. If it does not work he will have his own kingdom. But i have seen it work personally.

Red devils x4. Green terror. Moorii x3. Frontosa x4. A scat. Many loaches. What i could remember. The funny thing is every time somebody tells me it can't be done is the contrary is seen in person or on youtube.

I love my my large american cichlids. I have kept flower horn, red devil, various veijas, parot, green terror and red terror in one tank. Bought all at a small size . tank was 1.8m. It got very rough early on. Decided to sell up and concentrate on my discus. I will not attempt anything smaller than a very high very wide 3m plus tank in future. Biggest risk I'd say is when that flowerhorn charges the with 2m runway and misses target at the end. They have busted 12mm sheets. Just be carfull. As having various aggressive species will not bring peace like a over stocked Malawi tank. They will fight to the death

That is not a good combination of fish.
Just because someone keeps them together, doesn't mean it's in their best interests.

I completely agree with this , Just because you see things on YouTube DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT , this guy seems to be following his own mind , even with his 2.4m build , he doesn't take any advice from people , following his own mind....what's the use of posting?
Sorry , I don't want to come off rude , but some people just aren't ment to be keeping fish

African cichlids prefer a pH 8.5 -9. Americans around 6-6.5. But its a free world do what u want. You setting up for disaster and the poor fish gonna suffer the worst

You tube.... great tool but... great deceiver too

What you see on you tube is a video that lasts a minute or two...
They never come back and tell you how long it lasted...

Joey set up his Aro and discus tank (I think it was Aro and discus or stingray and discus)
So.. at that time, everyone with experience's advice went down the tubes and laughed at.. people said you were proven wrong because Joey did it.
Well... no one came back a little while later to say.. It didn't work (like we all had said) and Joey had to pull the discus all out the tank
Sad part.. his first video is still there on you tube so.. if you don't follow all his videos in sequence to see it didnt work you or anyone else says.. I saw it on you tube.. can be done.. but you have no proof it lasted...

not so much central american actually like harder water 8 is about there optimum (ie salvini and red devil) but agree keeping Africans and central american and then south Americans in the same tank is not a good idea, at all.
I keep many central american cichlids in the same tanks, same sex, large tanks, lots of hiding spots, hospital tank (if you have a problem) and clean water

Thast does't look like a very big tank. A disaster waiting to happen imo
Completely overstocked with inappropriate fish - mix of different cichlids with different water requirements, Scat which is a brackish fish, and not much floor space for loaches.

I'm going to reiterate what @Reedfish said - just because it can be done, it doesn't mean it should be. We're pet owners, with the responsibility to do the best we can for our animals.

Just take some time to think about the needs, welfare, and long-term health (physical, physiological, and psychological) of your pets, and then think about where you would like to go from here. I've seen hundreds of setups like this, both in real life and online. Yes, sometimes it works. But many, many times, things go wrong and the owners "cannot figure out why". Less than ideal environments breed less than ideal results.

Like I said, just give this some good consideration.

    Regards,

days i wished spca and such actually cared about fish to some extent
old example of kid his 4 foot tank and 8 5cm oscars.
also always reminds me of a story where guys walks into pet shop and asks
"what is the biggest meanest fish you have"
    followed by
"i will take one, now what can i put with it"
